The Apollo Beach Nature Preserve is a 63-acre preserve that serves as habitat for a variety of aquatic species.
Seven acres of the preserve are separated from the habitat restoration areas and dedicated to nature-based recreation, which includes a 2-acre sandy beach for picnicking and sunbathing (no swimming allowed), a 37-foot wheelchair accessible observation tower, and fantastic shoreline fishing.
The preserve provides stunning views of Tampa Bay.
No Special Events or Vendors are permitted at this location.
Note: Pets are not permitted on the observation tower.
Hiking safety guidelines
Always be prepared when hiking on nature preserves:
- Bring plenty of water
- Download the map
- Tell someone your plan
- Wear proper shoes and sun protection
- Stay on marked trails
- During the rainy season, many trails will have standing water.
