Attendees can engage in various activities, including meeting adoptable pets, participating in Easter-themed enrichment tables, contributing to the "Fill the Play Pen" supply drive, entering the "Name the Kitten" contest, and utilizing a photo station. Informational sessions are scheduled throughout the day:
10:30 - 11 AM: New Foster Orientation
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM: Kitten Fostering and Medical Knowledge Class
2 - 3 PM: Bottle Baby 101 Class
3:30 - 4 PM: New Foster Orientation
Kitten season, typically from early spring to late summer, sees an increase in kitten births which leads to crowded shelters. To assist, community members are encouraged to foster kittens, donate supplies, and support local shelters.
If you find kittens outdoors, it's best to leave them undisturbed, as their mother is likely nearby. Removing kittens can hinder their immune system development and socialization.
For community cat care, minimize human interaction and avoid mass feeding to prevent attracting wildlife and causing neighborhood issues.
