Job Overview

Responsible for the management of highly complex planning data and analysis projects including mapping, demographics, graphics, and reports. Determines and establishes the procedures, budget and supply expenditures, and work schedules for numerous planning, analysis, and mapping projects. Manages staff and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consultants.

  • Min $68,286.00 annually
  • Mid $119,537.00 annually

Ideal Candidate

The ideal GIS Project Manager candidate possesses a blend of technical GIS expertise, strong project management skills, and excellent leadership abilities, capable of managing projects, leading teams, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The GIS Project Manager must have excellent problem-solving capabilities, prior Project Manager experience in the implementation of GIS or technology solutions, and the ability to work with a team of GIS resources. The candidate is responsible for ensuring quality control, successful project delivery, and client satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree; AND
  • Four years of experience in the management of planning and cartographic projects; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above
