Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Class "A" Florida Water Treatment Plant Operator with exceptional leadership skills. The candidate has prior experience in a position with duties and responsibilities that would support skill sets that are complementary to the duties of a Water Quality Manager. The ideal candidate has good analytical and troubleshooting skills, with an ability to make sound and logical corrective actions.
The candidate has strong communication skills with the ability to explain water quality/potable water regulatory requirements to the customers. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with others via written, oral, email, and other methods, as well as maintain detailed records and logs of duties and logistical data.
Candidates must be able to work with various industrial and laboratory chemicals safely and comfortably. Candidates must be able and willing to respond to emergency situations to provide for public health and safety. Candidates will be required to work independently. Candidates should have computer skills with standard software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Incumbents hired at the Water Quality Manager skill level will serve a minimum of six-month probationary period.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Graduation from an accredited four-year degree granting college or university; AND
- Four years of experience directly related to the position duties, two of which must have been in a supervisory capacity;
OR
- An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.
- State of Florida Drinking Water Plant Operator License "A" level required.
