Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 31, 2025) - A cool new way to get relief from the Florida heat will soon be available at Winston Park with the Monday, Nov. 3, opening of a new 1,250-square-foot splash pad.
The splash pad is the centerpiece of recently completed improvements at the 8-acre park in the Palm River/Clair-Mel community at 7605 Destin Dr., Tampa, FL 33619. In addition to the various water-spray features, the splash pad includes a slip-resistant rubber floor finish, a large synthetic turf area within a fenced enclosure, two shade structures with benches, and a new metal-roof shelter.
The project includes renovated restrooms and sidewalk and drainage improvements. The park also features a playground, basketball court, and outdoor fitness gym.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the improvements is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday.
