Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 9, 2026) - Railroad crossing repair work by CSX will briefly close portions of several Hillsborough County roads in January as railroad crews and County crews continue to keep the roads safe.
Portions of the following roads will experience brief, three-day closures in January as crews work to improve railroad crossings. Many of these crossings are on the CSX railway that parallels Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Here are the road names and expected start dates.
- Turkey Creek Road, Jan. 14
- Wilkinson Lane, Jan. 14
- Sydney Dover Road, Jan. 15
- McIntosh Road, Jan. 20
- North Valrico Road, Jan. 21
- South Webb Road, Jan. 22
- Kingsway Road, Jan. 22
- Parsons Avenue, Jan. 23
- Highview Road, Jan. 24
- Williams Road, Jan. 25
Detours will be posted around each closure and message boards will be placed near the closures several days in advance of the closures to alert motorists.
Navigation apps will be updated on the detours and will route residents around the closures.
The road closure schedule could change as CSX evaluates and works to improve the railroad crossings.
