A checklist of submittal items for residential demolition permits
This page provides a guide for a Residential Demolition project (entire structure demolition). Following these guidelines will help ensure the application, plans and supporting documentation are complete and sufficient for permit submittal which will ensure a timely review and response.
General intake requirements
- Apply online at HillsGovHub
- Recorded certified copy of Notice of Commencement in accordance with Florida Statutes 713.13 (required prior to the first inspection)
- Permits for Homeowners acting as their own contractor must include a completed Owner Builder Disclosure Statement
- Utility Sign off: upload email response from Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department
- TECO Sign off: upload approval letter or email from Tampa Electric indicating that the demolition permit application has been approved.
- Gas Sign off: upload approval letter or email from the gas service provider
- Phone Data Provider Sign off: upload approval letter or email from the phone data service provider
Building plan review requirements
A digital key site plan (drawn to scale) shall be provided showing the entire parcel to include all buildings located on the parcel with the structure to be demolished clearly depicted
