Self-haulers must obtain approval from the Solid Waste department prior to delivery to our disposal facilities
All commercial facilities that want to self-haul their solid waste to a Hillsborough County disposal facility must obtain approval from the Solid Waste department prior to delivery. Please note that commercial facilities that only have yard waste for disposal do not need to obtain approval.
How to bring trash to our disposal sites
- Request a waste profile by e-mailing specialhandling@HCFL.gov with your contact information and a description of your waste or by calling (813) 272-5680. (Commercial entities that only have yard waste for disposal do not need to obtain approval.)
- Payment must be made at the scale house either by cash, credit card, or through a solid waste commercial account. Checks are not accepted. To set up a commercial account you must have an approved Countywide Solid Waste Profile prior to submitting a Commercial Account for Payment form.
- To drop off waste at the disposal facility, commercial customers must go through the scale house. Attendants will take your cash or credit card payment or charge your commercial account. A 30% cash deposit or credit card hold consisting of the gross total weight of the loaded vehicle/trailer is required prior to entry. After unloading, the total amount due is settled upon weighing out at the scale house.
