Hillsborough County Children’s Services assists local youth who are experiencing traumatic situations, facing homelessness, or need emergency shelter. The department offers a number of resources and programs including Safe Place in Hillsborough County, the Children & Families in Need of Services program, and the ICM Program.
Safe Place in Hillsborough County
Children’s Services leads the Safe Place initiative in Hillsborough County which provides immediate, 24/7 access to help and supportive resources for youth in need. Learn more about Safe Place.
Children & Families in Need of Services program
The Children & Families in Need of Services program is designed to help families with youth who exhibit risk factors that make them more susceptible to becoming involved with the juvenile delinquency or dependency systems.
This program has two components:
- Residential Respite – Free, short-term residential services for youth ages 10 to 17. Youth in this program stay at the Children’s Services campus and are provided with lodging, food, enriching activities, individual and family counseling, academic support, and health/wellness services. - Community Counseling – Free individual and/or family counseling services with a licensed therapists for families with youth ages 6 to 17. Learn more about Community Counseling.
Case Staffing program
The Case Staffing program assist youth ages 6 to 17 who are chronically exhibiting truant, runaway, or ungovernable behavior. Learn more about Case Staffing.
