Hillsborough County is holding meetings to assess the impacts of storms on residents and to explore long-term flood mitigation and resiliency strategies
In the wake of several intense storm seasons, Hillsborough County is evaluating its stormwater systems to identify opportunities to strengthen the region's flood resiliency. A series of multi-agency public meetings are being held as part of a Regional Stormwater Evaluation effort aimed at assessing the cumulative flooding impacts from seasonal rainfall and hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.
The goal of the meetings is to provide information and data about how recent and repeated storm events have stressed infrastructure, impacted neighborhoods, and altered natural drainage patterns across the county and neighboring communities. It is also an opportunity for residents to share concerns, provide feedback, and learn about potential solutions. Residents can also provide input virtually from April 15 to May 19, 2025, at HCFL.gov/HCengage.
