Kickstart Your Business with the Small Contractor Development Program

Hillsborough County offers many ways to educate, guide, and nourish small businesses for success. An impactful initiative being, the Small Contractor Development Program (SCDP).

This program, offered twice per year, in the Spring and Fall, is designed to help Small Business Enterprise (SBE) registered businesses grow and thrive. Through SCDP, participants gain the tools and knowledge to:

• Secure County contracts and expand into government work
• Strengthen financial and managerial skills to compete in the private sector
• Build networks and partnerships that open doors to new opportunities

The program gives you all the fundamentals that a small business needs to hit the ground running, covering key areas such as estimating and bidding, bonding and accounting, legal claims and disputes, management and administration, and marketing.
