Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2026) - In observance of Labor Day, Hillsborough County offices and most facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 7.

There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collections Monday, Sept. 7, in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Solid Waste Service Area, which includes Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, and New Tampa. If your collection day for garbage, recycling, or yard waste falls on this holiday, services will resume on your next regularly scheduled collection day. There are no holiday make-up collections.

Disposal sites (community collection centers, yard waste processing facilities, transfer stations, the Resource Recovery facility, and Southeast County Landfill) and all Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed.

  • Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation recreational centers will be closed, including the programs offered at the facilities, Skyway Sports Complex, and SouthShore Sportsplex

OPEN on Labor Day, Sept. 7

  • Conservation parks, nature preserves, and boat ramps will be open
  • Dog parks are open sunrise to sunset
  • Splash pads are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Skate parks are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Carrollwood Village Park is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
