For eligible households, in-home services can offer help with home delivered meals, assistance around the house, caregiver respite, and more

We provide services in the home for adults over 60 who are functionally impaired and need assistance with everyday activities. These services are provided on a long term basis.

About senior in-home services

Service needs are evaluated by a case manager and may include some or all of the services listed:

  • Respite for the caregiver (allowing relief from caregiving duties)
  • Companionship
  • Consumable medical supplies
  • Emergency alert response (call button worn around the neck or wrist)
  • Home delivered meals
  • Homemaking
  • Personal care
  • Lock boxes for bedbound seniors whom live alone or are left alone during the day in the event they have an emergency and need to let EMS/police into their home but are unable to physically do it themselves

Applying for and receiving services

Call the Elder Helpline at 1-800-963-5337, or Aging Services at (813) 272-5250 to complete an application by phone. Seniors are selected for services based on eligibility criteria with applicants most in need approved first.

The level of service is determined by a thorough application process. Once approved for service, a case manager visits the home and identifies needs, develops a plan for services, monitors progress, and provides ongoing support when changes occur.

Please note that Aging Services does not provide medical care.

Fees for the In-home service program are charged on a sliding scale based on income.
