Arts Council of Hillsborough County invites residents to enjoy local art at County Center rotating installation
New artwork is now on display at Hillsborough County Center as part of the "Rising Voices: Creative Works by Hillsborough County Youth" rotating art exhibit. The fourth instillation, "Shine A Light Arts for Impact Program," features artwork created by Tampa Bay-area students exploring themes related to modern-day antisemitism and the importance of remembering the Holocaust.
Students from across Tampa Bay, ranging from elementary school through college, participated in the youth art contest. Three submissions from each age category were selected for first, second, and third place.
A closer look at the installation
Through two-dimensional artwork on canvas or paper, students share their understanding of and feelings about the Jewish faith while expressing messages of hope, remembrance, inclusion, and strength.
The artwork offers young artists an opportunity to reflect on history and contemporary issues while encouraging viewers to consider the importance of combating hate and discrimination.
The installation is on display in the lobby at Frederick B. Karl County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33602, and is available for the public to view during regular business hours now through Sept. 21.
