Look up owner info for Hillsborough County pet tags

Hillsborough County is no longer able to provide public access to its pet tag search database. Per House Bill 273, which went into effect on June 21, 2024, animal adopters who have legal custody of an animal from an animal shelter or animal control agency operated by a local government are exempt from public records requirements.

To find lost pet owner information, please search the below databases by complete microchip number. Typically, microchips are 9 characters.

The following websites provide databases to find information on microchips:

If you have found a lost pet with a County tag, contact the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center. If you have found a lost pet without a tag, visit the Lost & Found Pet FAQs page.
