Represent Veterans organizations and serve as a liaison to County government

The objective of the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County is to:

  • Serve as a local affiliate of military Veterans organizations
  • Act as liaison between County government and Veterans organizations on actions affecting Veterans and Veterans benefits, as pertaining to military families in Hillsborough County
  • Uphold the ideals, principles and traditions of our Armed Forces

Eligibility

The council will be comprised of:

  • Recognized National Veterans organization whose members served in the armed forces of the United States, and/or their auxiliaries
  • Veterans organization, along with associate members, if they abide by the Constitution of the United States and are not national in scope

Fees

Each member from all Veterans organizations: $40/yr (Oct. 1 - Sept. 30)

Benefits

  • Provide unity, leadership, and assist with the coordination of serving as a liaison to county government
  • Promote patriotic programs throughout the year, with special emphasis on:
    • Memorial Day
    • Field of Honor ceremonies
    • Veterans Day
  • Represent all Veterans organizations within Hillsborough County
  • Representatives share your organizations activities with other organizations

Meetings

Unless otherwise noted, meetings occur on the last Monday of each month at 6 PM in the Veterans Resource Center. New members are always welcomed!
