Find out how the annual Hiking Spree works, how to register, and a list of all the hiking trail locations
NOTE: Due to Hurricane Milton, the 2024-2025 Hiking Spree will now begin on Dec. 1, 2024, and run through April 30, 2025.
How it works
Hike at least eight trails. Participants may hike on their own, with a group, or through one of our guided hikes. Some sites have entrance and parking fees. Hikers requiring accessible trails may repeat any trail twice for credit, as long as the hikes occur on different dates.
Register
Registration is free - you must be registered to receive your prize at the end. If your pet is hiking with you, they need to be registered as well to be eligible for a reward. To find out how to claim your prize, visit the Hiking Spree Rewards page.
Hiking trail locations and distances
There are four categories of parks, 22 locations and 23 trails to choose from. There is also a Hikers Choice, which can be any trail of any length, anywhere on Earth.
See where all the Hillsborough County managed Hiking Spree locations are and be sure to download a map of the trails you want to hike.
