Circumstances when you are not allowed to use PCards
PC 3 - Prohibited transactions on card accounts
Card accounts shall not be used under any circumstances for the following:
- Cash Advances
- Gift cards
- Rental or lease of land or buildings
- Utilities (i.e., telephone services, telephone calls, etc.)
- Alcoholic beverages or tobacco products
- Non-business entertainment expenses
- Florida sales tax
- Square technology or third-party billing vendor set up in an individual’s name
- Third-party billing vendor fees
- Late fees
- Flowers
- Greeting/Sympathy cards
- Purchases partially covered by a stipend
- Personal use items
- Deposits
- Unless otherwise approved or directly related to the mission of the Requesting Department and serves a public purpose, card accounts shall not be used for the following:
- (A) Food items
- (B) Licenses and certifications (County Administrator Policy Manual, Policy Number 5.2)
- (C) Fuel
- (D) Any other items currently under a contract or prohibited from purchase by County policies
