We will repair the wheels or axle of your County-provided gray garbage and blue recycling roll carts (commonly called garbage and recycling cans) at no charge

How to report damage

  • Report a damaged wheel or axle
  • Call Solid Waste Customer Service at (813) 272-5680
  • Please allow up to seven business days from the initial request date for your repair to be completed

Damaged roll cart preparation

  • Keep the roll cart with the broken wheel or axle at the curbside until the cart repair is completed
  • Make sure the roll cart is empty or no more than half full whenever possible

Failure to follow the set-out requirements during your repair window may result in delays or cancellation of your request.

What to expect

  • Once you submit the online ticket, you will receive an email confirmation that your request has been received
  • When your roll cart has been repaired, you will receive an email notification that your request has been closed
  • Non-repairable cart: If the cart is determined to be non-repairable when the technician arrives, a replacement roll cart must be purchased
  • Reporting by telephone: Please provide your email address over the phone if you would like to receive an email confirmation of your request. Otherwise, you will not receive an email confirmation.

Homeowner Associations (HOAs)

If you live in an HOA or deed-restricted community that restricts roll cart placement at the curb, you may consider forwarding and/or taping the emailed confirmation on your cart to let the HOA know the anticipated timeline for cart repair or ensure the roll cart is visible from the street.

Resources

If you need a roll cart for an existing home, additional, missing or replacement cart, you can order and pay online.
